The email is addressed to Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment director Ned Calonge. It's unknown at this time if Calonge replied to the request for statistics from Mr. Aaron Flaster.
The idea that medical marijuana dispensaries are magnets for crime was a widely debated topic last fall, when stories were published that dispensaries were fostering a new crime wave. Local attorney Jessica Peck Corry disputed the main thrusts of the story, arguing that banks were actually more dangerous than med-pot dispensaries.
