PROBABLE CAUSE FOUND AGAINST WELD COUNTY COMMISSIONER-ELECT KIRKMEYER

Nov. 10th, 2008

POSSIBLE VIOLATION OF ETHICS LAW

CompleteColorado.com is first to report that the Weld County D.A.'s office has concluded an investigation into ethics complaints against
Barb Kirkmeyer. Kirkmeyer has been the town administrator for Gilcrest, and was recently elected to a commissioner's seat in Weld County.

CompleteColorado.com broke the news of the possible ethics violations by Kirkmeyer.

It is unclear as to whether or not Kirkmeyer would face any kind of penalty if she were found guilty of violating the state statutes.

CompleteColorado.com has also learned that State Senator Scott Renfroe is considering legislation in the '09 General Assembly that would clearly outline penalties for state workers that violate any portion of the ethics law.

A copy of the affadavit against Kirkmeyer is posted below.
