After winning the election in November 2006, Governor Bill Ritter tapped life-long Yuma County resident Mike Bowman to be co-chair of his transitional energy team.

CompleteColorado.com has obtained documents showing in 1999, a Yuma County jury held Bowman liable for almost $4 million dollars in damages due to "fraudulent representation."

Additionally, a business partner of Bowman's was also deported sometime shortly after the jury named Bowman liable for the roughly $4 million in damages. A large part of the deportation hearing was focused specifically on the fraud judgement against Bowman.

Bowman was a driving force behind a sometimes-controversial wind turbine in Wray, Colorado, which was recently a part of "carbon offsets" being sold to DNC delegates.

Today, September 10th, Governor Bill Ritter is hosting the "8th Annual Colorado Conservation Voters Fall Luncheon," with sponsorships available for $1,500. Bowman is listed on a press release as being a member of the host committee.

Besides continuing to play a role in his family's farm, Bowman is a school bus driver in Wray.
